Fitting Oil Temp guage to Blue top 4AGE

Bought an oil temp guage for my 4AGE and was getting a T piece to house both the pressure and temp sensors, but it didnt fit in properly, Has anyone else fitted oil temp guages to their 4AGE's? How have you guys done it? It is just a mechanical guage.
Thanks for any info.
Cheers.

I wouldnt advise running a T Piece on a 4age, it will eventually snap off through vibration and stuff your engine. The only safe way to do it is modify the sump to fit the extra sender or mount the t-piece off an oil cooler line

You can also get fittings so you can put it where the sump plug is.

If you want to T into the oil pressure switch line, mount the T on the strut tower and use a braided hose. Only thing is, without continious flow, the temp gauge might not work that accurately...

Drill and tap the sump plug. The large body of oil will moderate temp fluctuations out to a reasonably consistent indication of oil operating temperature.

I wouldnt do it either, mainly because of the distance between the sump and the road. Dont particularly want to make it any easier to destroy sump plugs.

Methinks it be more of an issue of your chosen temp sensor snapping off and letting all the oil out, rather than damaging a precious component like a sump plug

Yeah, either that or just destroying the sump while racing.

Granted the above points; more my point was that the temp sensor should be in the oil pan, rather than a gallery. As for whether you'd prefer to tap the plug (easy to do without removing sump, etc.) or weld into the sump (requires removal of sump, etc.) is up to you.
