hey guys it appears as tho my vac advance isnt working on my engine (2tgeu). i was wondering what effects this could have on the running of the engine etc?

If is was working, disconnect it and the idle speed should drop.
If not, it won't drop idle speed.

It will only make a difference to the car's ability to idle well and tune well for idle.
The moment your throttle comes on, the vacuum advance will stop doing anything.

Basically, if it doesn't work, it'll only really affect your performance at idle and under decelleration.
