i cant see how it would cause that.
the signal arm triggers off the shaft not the wheel/bosskit

If it works normally with the proper wheel, then yes, you need to purchase a boss kit to suit your car.

There will (or should be) little notches on the side of the boss kit that faces away from you. These little notches are what tell the indicator to turn off after you turn the wheel. Make sure that they are lined up properly (usually one at the top, one at the bottom, one at 10 o'clock and one at 2 o'clock).
If you got a bodgy boss kit it might not even have said notches.

Yep, you either have the wrong bosskit, or have installed it incorrectly. To check installation, take the boss off, and look for the holes as mentioned above, to suit the prongs on the plastic cup that site around the steering column and sits immediately behind the Boss.

Undo nut a couple of turns then pull and wiggle as much as you can.
You leave the nut on otherwise you end up with a wheel in the noggin.

be very carefull of that puller, I used one of them on my old kit once and it just broke the casting instead. I just got a plate that used all the holes and then put a bolt through the middle, I can take a pic

M.W.P. wrote on Mon, 30 May 2005 22:51 | I have the same problem with the boss kit on my Corona.
The indicator doesnt switch off after turning out of a corner.
In my case, its caused by two pins in the steering column not fitting into the back of the boss kit correctly.
They sping instead of locking into the back of the boss.
It would be easy to fix by just pulling off the boss, and drilling holes in it in the correct locations.
I just have bothered to do it yet... im used to turning it off now
|
Just exactly as i planned....
as soon as i get the friggin wheel off

My Sparco wheels and boss kit never turned off the signals on my AE92 GTi... but when i fitted the boss and wheel to my AE86, BINGO it works
you can mod it to suit the AE92 you have to drill a small hole for the nipple to line up, my mate did it i will ask him when i see him next

Have to tried putting the wheel back on after loosening the nut, then try and get it off? That extra leverage can make all the difference..

If it ain't coming off, you're not pulling hard enough
Me and a mate had the same problem with our ke70. Just get into a good spot so that you can use your legs as well. Be warned though!! Our car was striped out (no seats/interior) and my mate ended by upside down in the rear footwell after yanking on it hard!!

I will get u a pic of my puller, I wouldnt recomend using that ebay one as it has a high chance of shattering your boss, they make those boss kits out of the shittest quality metal usually.
