Microtech wiring Sun, 29 May 2005 12:38 Go to next message
I have a 20V with a LTX8 microtech, bought the package from a toymods member off this forum and some wires were not labed so i have no ideas what they are for, nor do i have a microtech wiring diagram or manual.

well theres 4 wires near the plug to the ecu that are loose, they are the following

Orange
White
Blue/white (thin)
Green
http://img206.echo.cx/img206/1898/p10100073yp.th.jpg

there are also two plugs for which i have no idea where they are suppose to go

the first plug has a Blue wire, orange wire, black wire and yellow wire and the second plug has a blue wire, green wire and red wire.

blurry pic here, digi cam wouldnt focus properly...
http://img206.echo.cx/img206/7607/p10100080kb.th.jpg

any help from the original owner or microtech experts would be great, thanks all.

Good to see you worked out what the plugs are for.. Wink

Thin Blue/white wire - Tacho output
White - Should be ign power from a triggered relay
Green - The earth switch for the fuel pump relay, but that looked like it was hooked up to the relay in you pics... so maybe there is another one
Orange - ??

Track the wires your not sure of back to the ecu plugs with a multi-meter and cross reference them from the microtec diagrams

This diagram might help you out more too..

Hope this helps

Cheers

Just realised I made a mistake Embarassed

White wire is the Aux output (ie Thermos, etc).. It is also an earth switched output.
Pink wire is Ign power... NOT the white wire.

ok the igniton power from a triggered relay, this would be from the ignition switch to tell the ecu when the power is switched on? and thats the pink one correct?

i have two other wires for fan power, so what would the white one be for?

i'll look at it properly this weekend i guess

Use http://www.microtechefi.com/IMAGES/wiring/LT84CYLT OYOTAfuel.pdf

For the ones coming from the engine bay, just trace them.

if you have not worked it out yet.
white is AUX output switches to ground...connect it to a relay to switch something. eg fan
Orange is on the main large plug is injector number 2.
on the small 6 pin plug its coil output number 4.
yes everybody has been right about the blue/white...its tacho output.
Are you running multicoil? Im running the same computer and setup on my 2T-GEU, im using a 20 Valve modified CAS and commo coil packs running in wasted spark setup.

thats just the thing... was this white wire switching the fuel pump or not.. i dont know as theres no wire to go to the pump.. (just three wires into the fuel pump relay)

multicoil, all coil and injectors aree wired up correctly. there are servral orange whites which is where it starts toi get confusing!

wire the fuel relay. Green from ECU to 85, +/red/positive to 86 and 87, 30 to +/positive of fuel pump.

yes maybe the white gots to the VVT.

I guess when your not doing it everyday like I am its not as easy.

The only thing id worry about is there shouldnt be left over orange wires.

Good luck.

and looking at that pic of the fuel relay. DONT FIRE UP THE RELAY AS I WILL PUT A POSITIVE VOLTAGE INTO THE PUMP CONTROL WIRE (green) AND COOK THE ECU..

Just rewire it as above

the extra wires could be for extra auxilary outputs

how many coils are u runnin

if u ask microtech when u order an ecu u can get extra outputs

y dont u just ring microtech

the only part u are stuck is the 6 pn plug

black is earth on enigne
blue/white is tacho output
yell is coil 1
yell/black is coil 2
this wiring is for gze type coil setup waste spark

if u r runnin 4 seperate coils then there will also be
orange coil 3
orange/black coil 4

this leaves no more wires left on the 6 pin plug
what coil setup do u have

Jim, this is the one you wired up in Thornleigh about a year ago, so the wiring should look generally familiar to how you usually do 20V/LTXs.
