Lighting Mods for Corolla [56k Warning] Mon, 30 May 2005 00:24 Go to next message
http://www.birdiehq.net/photos/car/front.jpg
This it the front of my car (obviously), and want I'm considering doing is, adding some fog lights. I had two ideas, first was to somehow make custom pods into the plastic under the blinkers, but this could be hard, as the bumper is angled around, so they would have to be sunken. The second idea is to replace my current spotlights with fogs (in current postion) and then make a custom grill, and mount the spot lights into it, sort of like the soarer front. Any suggestions?

Also on the front I would like to upgade my headlights to something simular to the new BA falcon style headlights. Is there any newer model corollas that would have them that would fit mine? (Mine is an AE102)

This is the rear of my car (again obviously), what I would like to do is remove the dummy light section and replace it with body colour panels. Has anyone got experience doing this? if so can the existing pieces just be unscrewed? could i replace them with some MDF or some other timber, or would it not look the same as the metal?

Do you drive through enough fog to make it worth while?

Also, just paint the rear. With the correct prep you won't be able to tell.

Well for lighting mods on your car.

Firstly from the photo, clean your head light lens and buff them up removing all the grime and stuff off the lens. Also clean the stone chip covers.

Finally go and buy a good set of ADR approved light bulbs. I was in the same prediciment with my car but when I did the steps above all was good.

I too have foglamps on all my cars as an extra to the standard headlights. They do help but having them aimed correctly makes a world of difference as well...

Cheers.
