hi guys,
i got a 89 celica with a 3sfe its done over 210,000km and is drinking oil.

i dont know much about the mechanics, but im assuming changing the oil seals should fix the problem, or should i do a complete rebulild (due to its age)?????

OR should i just buy a reco engine? and if so does any1 know what this would cost and where (in sydney)

OR is any1 selling a 3sfe thats doen less than 150,000?

i know it would be beter to go for a 3sge but i dont want to spend much money

appricaite the help, cheers

Ahh no oil seals. Does it blow smoke or is it dripping oil? it all depends where its using oil if you need to rebuild the engine.

How much do you have to top it up? I mean if you can't see the smoke driving along than its not that bad and theres no oil on the ground. Most cars if your thrashing it often will use oil. Look at holden they now have a percentage of oil that there V8s can use per service because they were getting to many warranty claims on engines using oil. But it does depend on how much your toping it up each month.

I have to FILL mine with oil every month. and when i drive hard it make everything foggy lol. I wouldn't go to all the trouble because you think it is getting old or because of the K's. save your money wait for it to die or get bad and look at your options then.
