If you dont want to do any fabrication, buy a reconditioned AE86 radiator.. It will bolt straight in
There is nothing wrong with the standard radiator (in good condition of course) as long as the rest of your cooling system is up to scratch.
I replaced mine for a Hyundia one only because they were a lot cheaper. But required some fabrication work so this wouldn't be for you.
Cheers

Car overheats at idle = not enough air flow (fan stuffed, fins blocked)
Car overheats while cruising = not enough waterflow (waterpump stuffed, rad blocked)
Start with replacing the cheap things, thermostat and coolant.
Then take the radiator out and get it cleaned (~$80), then get a new waterpump if it still overheats.

Are you sure the fan is good?
Electric or Viscious clutch?
Does it overheat while cruising at say 80kph for a while?

yer fan is good its eletric and rigged so that it is always on, it doesnt overheat while crusing and 60 and above but if your doing around 40 or you in a car park or something like that then it will over heat.

Is it just bolted to the radiator (ie only covering 50% of it)? or do you have a proper shroud?

You'll probably need either another thermo fan, or get the radiator cleaned.
At idle you are only getting 1/2 the radiator cooled with the fan, where as while driving you are getting the whole radiator cooled.

Take the radiator out, give it to a radiator shop, get them to clean it.
If you have plastic top and bottom tanks there is a chance of them fucking the core up, and you having to buy a new one.
But its worth it in the end.

hey buddy.Im a radiator repairer,i made a radiator for my mates AE86.it was a plastic tank/copper brass 2 row radiator. What u need is a Celica ST162 core,a AE92 Tercel top tank and your old bottom tank.
It bolts straight in.But there about the $400-$500 mark but does the job.dont waist your time and money on alloy radiators. All they are for is show.
If u want more info PM me
