Hey guys this morning i got up to take my missus to work, walk outside and my ae82 has ice all over it. When i go to start the car it is like a have a flat battery, with just a very tired whirring sound. However i have full auxillaries and headlights and so fourth, so i tried clutching it again to no avail, as a result my missus was late to work and i had to cab from leumeah to narellan ($36.80 later). just wondering if anybody has any idea why it wouldnt start or any plans to rectify this problem.

Starter motor dead / battery low.
The starter drains a hell of a lot more power than headlights. I find my headlights sometimes seem fine even when the batery is almost dead and wont give enough charge to run the starter motor.

the other week when my battery carked it, it wouldn't even turn the starter motor but all auxillary worked and even the radio was able to be turned on.

id say starter motor, try tapping it with a screw driver while starting it, obviously youll need a couple people to be able to do this.

Cold weather affects batteries.
Its probably on its way out, and really cold weather was enough to tip it off the edge.
Try again when its warm and you'll find it will probably work.

i dunno but its a possibility; i thought maybe the batt was dead, but everyhitn was working. anyway, it turned out to be the starter motor cable had cum unclipped. cause the wire was being stretched.
also my bumpy ass driveway helped it.
i moved the box thing at the other end of the clip to another spot bent the clip that had shit itself into place and it hasnt happened since.
