4age skipping a beat

here is my problem.. my 4age will occasionally cut in and out, only once at a time and then the engine check light will light up for a few seconds.. it will only do this when not 100% warm and when you give it a bit of a rev...
if anyone has any help it will be much appreciated!!

To me it sounds like an ignition fault.
Have you had a look at the plugs and made sure that the leads sitting firmly on the coil, dizzy and plugs.
How about the dizzy connectors, are they ok.
What about the coil.

Have you tried to find any error codes on the ecu, id start there.

Crank agle sensor a bit unhappy? Or maybe the wiring to it?

I wasnt aware 4ag's had a crank angle sensor, uless it been modified.

its leaking a bit of oil out of the dizzt cap.. could that be related?? i dont know that much about engines so any help is much appreciated!!!!

could be oil in the dizzy but i would say as mentioned above to look up ecu error codes in google and short the 2 pins in your diagnostic plug with a paper clip i cant rember which ones you have to short e1 and f1 or something like that and see if it spits out an error code.
Start from there is that fails check your plugs leads etc.
