there should be 7 parallel ribs on the exhast side of the block.
To help you out try and do a search of google for a 4age and a 4agze and if your lucky you will be able to find some pics but you will definately be able to find some info...infact heres a page...
http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/phil.bradshaw/4AGE% 20into%20RWD.htm
there is a table near the bottom of that page with all info about different 4ages and 4agzes.
If you still arent sure find someone with a 4agze and go and look at theirs, take some pics and compare.
Be careful, as this happened to a mate of mine, paid $400 for a 4AGZE bare motor (No intake,SC,exhaust, inj. etc) only to compare it to my GE and find out it had 3 ribs and isnt a GZE!
Hope that website helps ya!
Cheers.

dude the ribs that tell the difference between a 3 rib and 7 rib block are on the inlet side of the block, and they are vertical. 4age engines also came with a 7 rib block.

providing the cam covers havnt been changed then the exhaust side cam cover should have 'supercharger' in it. and the timing belt cover should have '4agze' printed on it.

i meant the timing belt cover isnt there, i will check the cam covers 2nite. Thanks if anyone has anymore help plz post back.
If it is a 4AGE 7 rib, what can i do to give it power of 4AGZE bottom end. Change pistons, rods, and what else.

that pic shows a 7 rib smallport engine. whether a gze i cannot tell.
the inlet manifold you have there is a bigport item which will not match the inlet ports on your head.

That looks like a ZE flywheel/clutch, but, NA rocker covers.
The only difference between the ZE and the NA on the late model motors is the pistons, short of pulling the head/sump and having a look at them, I've got nothing....

Ok well the rocker covers are supercharged ones, i will take more pics of it tonight. So the head is a small port?? and the inlet manifold is big port?? it has 8 holes that come out to connect to the block. I will take more pics 2nite.

It's hard to pick the rocker covers from the side....
I'd say there is a pretty good chance you've got a ZE there.
It's definately a late model small port motor, that manifold is an early large port T-VIS unit.
I assume you're after a RWD manifold for it, you'll either need to get a FWD small port on cut-and-shut or get something like this:

Its a T50 sitting down right i think as its been machined out a bit to get the ZE flywheel to fit. The adaptor plate i have i found didnt fit well, ill look and take more photos 2nite.

Well i just spoke to the mechanic who rebuilt it and it was rebuilt 2 years ago, and sat in a shed for 1 yr before it was sold, the oil was keep up so that it didnt dry out. Then it was sold to the guy who i bought it through and it was the same for 1 yr until i bought it the other week. It still hasnt been run in so i will have to do so for 1500km. Its out of a AW11, i thought it was out of a AE92. Is there any limitations of a AW11?? over a AE92, i want to run about 140-160(MAX)rwkW.
Any other pointers to help would be great.

That's a GZE you got there, the orange injectors are GZE ones, and that inlet manifold will bolt up, but won't work
