man Ive Had this problem In my Sprinter Since late last year... Im tired of just changin the fuse out every time it blows...
Ive Pulled out all the rear trim panels looking for what maybe the cause but found nothing suspect...
Sometimes the fuses last weeks sometimes they last not even a minute...
Any Ideas?

That only works for glass fuses, not spade fuses.

Could be a bad earth (More than likely) or it could be that its shorting out somewhere.

well are you using the correct rating fuse? if you are then the circuit has too much current in it, voltage is fixed therefore you must have too low a resistance by short or bad component.

Could be some water getting into the light fitting or cabling and shorting the circuit out.
Also check the current draw across the fuse block to see if you are running too close to your fuse rating.

who needs brakes anyway
this might be hard to check if it doesnt blow allthe time
does itblow when u press the brakes or when they are not pressed
if they blow when brakes are not pressed then wire from stop fuse to the brake pedal is shorting to ground
check and replace this wire
if the fuse blows when u press the brakes then the wire form brake switch to the rear globes is shorting out
bad earth will not blow fuses usd heheually
if its a bad earth then they device just wont work properly
a bad short will usually blow fuses or melt wires

If you have trouble working out where the problem is wire in an LED just after the fuse and put it to a non brake related ground point.
When the led goes out you know the fuse has blown.
Just a thought... Probably excessive given the situation though.

Have you got a multimeter you can check for continuity of the brake light circuit. If you know how electrics works its easy to understand but if you don't electoral circuits it can be hard.

no no no. dont put a higher rating fuse in there - that shows the ignorance of how electricity works. that is the point of the fuse, it is the weakest link so is something wants to go bang, the fuse will and not your components.
woot woot up the fuse! and then everything else will melt and blow up except your valuable fuse of course.
check with multimeter and look for shorts and bad connections.

I agree styler there as been some very bad calls by people in post so far. Electrics is not something you tackel with only half your brain switched on, it only takes one silly move an you can end up with a electrical fire on your hands.
