More info? Is your engine standard? Boost? Ignition system?
0.8mm is a good place to start though

Talking of 3t-gte spark plug gaps.. I've always ran .8mm and been fine, but lately when it gets up around 16 - 20psi starts to miss and hesitate. I changed the plugs (ngk bp7es) hoping this would fix it but hasn't helped.
Maybe need bit less gap you think?
It has a MSD Dis-4 ignition.

My 3TGTE is 2.0 liter, 10-15 psi boost, Intercooled, using Haltech e6x with 2 igniters and 2 coils.

Thats surprising that you have any ignition issues with the CDI ignition unit, if anything you should be able to run bigger gaps and/or more boost with the boosted spark energy.
