Hey
Does anyone know of any good results from changing carbs on the k motors? Say take a carb off 18rg or something and put that on. Trying to come up with ideas, have a good one!
Thanks

I have recently purchased (waiting for it to arrive) a 32/36 weber with adaptor plate off a 5K. Should also fit my 4K, which is what I want it for. I was wanting to know if I had to modify anything else to fit it? ie. coil, dizzy etc. If anyone has an info or finds any it would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Alex

Yeah I was gonna go twin carb but its a bit outta my price range at the moment. Maybe try that a bit later on. I will set it up after I get the car pink slipped next month, hopefully it will increase performance somewhat...

Ah yeah. So is there any reason you went for webbers? Are they just better quality or better performance?
Thanks

It was more about availability of webers, plus they are known to be reliable and have a good reputation. There are apparently others you can use, such as old mazda carbs, but I dunno how effective they are. I went with 32/36 as they are pretty common and a good size for the 4K (once re-jetted).

i didn:t replybecause i was moving into a new apartment in japan heh heh
stock carb has 21/24mm venturis.. 32/36 has 26/27mm venturis..
personally i think you want around 22-24mm primary venturi for good part throtle drivability (ie most of the time)
i used a 34DMS.. basically 34/34 butterflies and 24/27mm chokes.
i don:t think you get a huge amount more froma stock motorgoing to bigger carbs. i got gains from high speed flap from the stockers, but to need a bigger carb you needcam/exhaust..
imho, the stock intake manifold is a big prob..
EFI=much better intake manifold

Hey
Whats wrong with the stock manifold? What do you think of the Escort carb? do you think that the power is worth the petrol for twin carbs? What carb would you recommend with the Camtech regrind cam you recommended? Have a good one man, enjoy japan! lol.
Thanks
