The new RA28 for ra_28 Sat, 04 June 2005 09:48 Go to next message
Well I bought this 28 back in febuary from this sight. It came pretty standard with GT grill GT guages and the 18rg with original air box and filter. So far I have fitted the hilux diff and a set 17x8 Advanty Victory wheels. There a few more mods come in the next couple of months like 336mm front rotors on MS65 hubs with Brembo EVO 1V calipers, MA70 rear discs and the MA70 master cylinder. Just bought a GT centre console, I have also just purchased a LSD for the hilux. The engine is getting a slight over haul with I build the the turbo 18RGETU, so for now I'm just fitting some 10.75:1 TRD forged pistons, 45mm webbers a set of very wild cams specs to come "Need to get spec sheet off Ivan Tiegh" with full balanced bottom end and flowed head. MSD ignition wil be fitted along with a five puck clutch with BMW pressure plate. The fly wheel has been lightened to about 8kgs. This should keep me happy till I'm finished the turbo motor.

Here are some pics I will take some more soon.

At the moment the standard front hubs which have a boss on themk like a spacer plate but it bolts onto the original 4 stud holes and has 5 studs in it. That is all changing when I fit the XT130 struts because I will use MS65 hubs.

The intereior is on the cards but I don't want to stray to far way from the original look. The only real change to the interior will be different seats something more race style and of coure the monster shift light tacho but nothing to flash just neat.

Of course any spacer plate is illegal. But you can't tell there spacer plates unless you study them or have a standard hub there as well.

How hard is it to adapt the MA70 brakes to the rear?

What needs to be done.

Thanks,
Jesse

Not real hard there has been an article written about the mod. I've done a dummy fit but i'm waiting for a bracket to mount the calipers on but need the car for all Toyota day. I'm working on the pics its hard without a digital camera.

Not necessarily. If done right, an good engineer will approve them, but there are quite a few considerations that need to be met.

The 20mm spacers that I had for the rear of my car were approved in principal due to the way I have done it, but the main consideration was still maintaining the track requirements.

Did you get the pressies Alex ?
