ra60 struts into ke20 Mon, 06 June 2005 10:36 Go to next message
hey people,

now my ke20 has a turboed 2tgeu its now time for the brake upgrade. i have a set of ra60 struts n brakes. ive heard its been done in the insight performance ke20 with the sr20, but ive hit i snag in the conversion.

i was using the idler arm off the ra60..the thingy that the tie rod end bolts to, and i noticed the bolt which comes out of the ke20 ball joint is too small and there is alot of play. I dont think its possible to use the ke20 idler because the bottom of the strut does not match up.

my next idea was getting ball joints for a ra60 and using them but they are much bigger so that is a big no no.

im out of ideas. is there another way of getting bigger brakes without too much mods or sending me broke. wat is the best n easiest conversion. I guess i will do anything that will pass for engineers certificate.

any help appreciated
thanks justin

Dude, i cant really help you except for the fact your talking about a steering arm, not an idler arm. Maybe use the ra60 ball joint, steering arm and lower control arm? or maybe the ra60 balljoint will push into the ke20 lower control arm, i have no fuckin idea. maybe someone has done this before. use the search button. ALso make sure the outer tierod bolts to the ra60 steering arm, or you might need to see if the outer tierod from the ra60 can be used as well.
goodluck.
