Have to fix rear left axle bearing....miffed it in a disagreement with the guter.
Have good axles with what seem to be fine bearings already pressed on.
1. How can i tell the bearings are fine?
2. Apart from un-bolting and bolting in the new axles are there
non reusables i'll need ie seal or gasket?
Cheers

Look at the bearings closely, look for marks etc. - if you don't really know what you're looking for, find someone who does, or replace them anyway. Get a bearing 'kit' that includes all the sleeves, seals, etc. - and shop around, it shouldn't cost THAT much, although some places may try and charge like an electric bull.

clunky sorta chuffing noisy which increases with rpm / wheelspeed.
all becoz i put it into a gutter.
ive got the buckled rim off and its still just as noisy so i figure bent axle or stuffed bearing.
father in law mad me a bash jig t ouse in place of a slide hammer and ive got good axles that gol28 donated to me before he left so should be fine.
