G'day guys,
the throw-out bearing is on the way out on my 7MGTE, so i wanted to get a rough idea how much people think i should pay for a stock kit, and a heavy duty clutch kit. i went into my toyota dealer and i was quoted $600 for the lot, thats a standard one!
any input anyone ?

I paid $240 for a 6 puck custom clutch plate with sprung centre, and the flywheel machined. I already had the PP.
Mind you that was for one to suit the W58.
Go to a decent clutch specialist.

call extreme clutch, new PP, thurst bearing, flywheeel machining and clutch plate shouldnt be more than $550-$600 and thats for an awesome clutch...
no point in paying $600 for a stock item

Nick,
Do you know what flywheel is on the car? Stock 5me? 7mge? 7mgte?
I had a custom 4 puck sprung centre made up with pressure plate and bearings for around $260 if I remember correctly, to suit the 5me flywheel.
Have a 7mgte flywheel sitting at home waiting for the new clutch to arrive. To suit w58 of course.

i dunno wat flywheel, the 7MGTE was from a JDM auto soarer, but the clutch is heavy duty atm, i got the feeling i have fixed the clutch problem, it was just very low on clutch fluid so a good top up worked, i always ring Toyota first cause htey charge the most and anyone who is more expensive is fucked up... to tell u the truth, Repco, Bursons, Sparco and a few other places wanted $700+.. the best one i got was $1150 lol with a 2 week waiting period !! just gettign a few ideas thanks guys
BTW its W58

I paid $500 for a custom heavy-duty pressure plate, 5-puck ceramic clutch plate and flywheel machining. This is all you'd ever need for a 7M unless you're spending truckloads of cash on go-fast bits.
