ok, I have a jdm sc aw11 and it is one of those limited ones with the gold coloured targa top tint, and it says limited at the bottom of the rear window. what I would like to know is does it have an LSD, or was the LSD an option. becasue when I raced a mate, another one of my mates said that when I launched I got a little bit of smoke from both tyres, but when I got it sideways in the wet, it didn't act like an LSD (throwing me from side to side with almost no control- very scary as i had only had it for 2 days). can anyone help me, or is there an easy test to see or sometyhing???

jack up one side of the car at the rear leaving one rear wheel on the ground if you can spin the wheel that is in the air then no lsd vice versa for lsd.
Other option is to get the car on the grass and launch it from the limiter two lines will indicate and lsd.
The lsd from what i understand was a factory option but was quite a popular option.
You should post in the aw11 anonomous (spelling?) forum
They are quite taily in the wet if you havent ever gotten a mid engine car sideways before it can be a bit daunting

i've driven cars that dont have lsd, but still have left 2 wheel tracks on wet grass. my feroza is deffinatly not lsd and it does 2 wheel roosters in the sand and squeals both tyres on the cement when i dump it up into the shed. go figure....
when i lift the rear end of the feral (both tyres off the ground) the tyres spin in the same direction. as far as i know it has the factory option lsd e51.
by memory my old c52 (4age) spun slightly in different directions.

my SC *feels* like an LSD, leaves two marks, drives like an LSD but dosent do any of the tell tale signs.. ie jack it up and the wheels just free spin. which to me says it would be a torsen diff... ? ive got a feeling the box has been opened so something aftermarket isnt outside the realms of possibility.

well if it is a helical cut torsen diff it dosent *really* lock it has a ratio torque split across as opposed to a clutch pack diff that will just grab and lock the wheels.
oh btw i have a e51 gearbox as well.

wheels should turn in same direction only if lsd
reverse direction is open centre
the more a diff spins both wheels the more its on the way out
