Billzilla.org - 2litre BDA engine.

"The twin cam 4AGE is basically a road going, mass produced version of the Ford Cosworth BDA twin cam racing engine. They share the same bore and stroke (81mm x 77mm), the same size valves (29.5mm & 25.5mm), and in some versions of the 4AGE very similar port shapes & sizes. When fully prepared for racing, they both produce similar hp figures at similar revs, so it would seem that Toyota has done an excellent job with them."
"This is a 2 litre BDA (Belt Driven, series A engine), which is basically identical to the 1.6 litre BDA."
Is this engine from the Sierra? If so the RS500 and not general production RS I am guessing (what engine was the RS).
Is it physically a bigger engine [Or if by some chance you came across one it would be a bolt in to a 4age enginebay setup, or even if you only got your hands on the block, adapting it to a 4age head]? t does state an "A" series engine, so I curious exactly how close it is to an a series Toyota engine and not just being similar. Hellishly rare and expensive engine?

I don't know about being hellishly rare but the cosworth head i think is damn expensive to get it into australia.
But as for fitting the 4age head i reakon it'd most likely work out to about the same, if not more, then getting a cosworth head.
If you really want to try it out, the ol' pinto motor from either an escort or cortina is about the same as the cosworth.
Personnely, i don't think it'd fit. But then again a 2tg head fits on a 4y block with some "minior" mods to the head

The 2L cosworth engine is the "BDG". They are very very rare and you would be looking at spending at least 15k on one thats in bits.
What exactly would you like to know? You want some pictures? I can tell you now the 4A head wont fit.

Sierra's use an HB Cosworth, I think. It's a lot like the BDG but I'm not sure what the differences are.
BDG is correct for the two litre version.
The heads on the Cosworth engines are pretty complex compared to the 4AGE'S - The BDa one I saw had the head in two parts, an upper part and a lower part.

It's very handy for doing the valve clearances, but yuck!
