3tgte and corona info needed Wed, 08 June 2005 03:57 Go to next message
i tried to ask this last night but it seems no one answered it.

What year was the 3tgte made.

If i was to put one in my corona (1896 RT142) would it require engineering as it came in the gt-t.

approx how much would it cost if i was to install it myself.

cheers

My 3tgte was a 1985 model from memory. Or there abouts.

Most engine conversions require engineer cert. Some you can get away with like 4ac - 4age conversion as its the same series engine.

Cheers

well it's have to get engineered cos it has more than 25% more power than the stock 22re and also has a displacement which is outside the 15% bracket of difference.

engineering is required because car wasnt released here (this is why import silvias ect need engineers cert when imported) i think you will be able to use any 3tgte as they are a series of motor produced until 87'. they wouldnt stop you putting a 86' model 4age in a 89' rolla would they? cost is prohibitive if you get someone else to do work. but my GF 2s corona will end up with my old 3tgte soon i think.(unless i find another ta22 for her)
