Hi guys, being new to these forums i would first say hi......
Also being new to the world of modding a Toyota i would like to ask if anyone has any advice or knows anyone who has performed the subject conversion.
Secondly what sort of money would be paying for a front cut or engine and box only for a 1J....
look forward to your responses.

how much would your corona weigh?
'cause if it's under 1100kg, it wont be legal to put the turbo 1jz into it.
a 1jz half cut will set you back as little as $2500, or as much as $4500.
I dont actually know much of anythinga bout coronas, so I cant help you there, although if they start off with a 4 cylinder engine, a 1jz conversion is going to be *hard*

Hope you like going in straight lines 'coz you won't want to turn with a 205kg engine out the front of your car.
Why not go the 1G-GTE? It's much better suited to the ST141 and a MUCH easier conversion. At least the 1G will fit in the engine bay without surgery...
If you're really interested, do a search for "1j ra60" or "1j ra65" or "1j ra6x" or something along the same lines. The engine bays are virtually identical.

another thing to consider is how quickly the 1jz would mince your corona's diff. I'm guessing a couple of good launches and you'd make diff soup.
your best choices are either find a car better suited to the 1jz (like I did. originally was going to do an RA65 1jz, but went the MA61) or, as Max suggested, put a 1G in. they're a good engine, 210bhp stock, weigh less, smaller, cheaper
of course, Max is a little biased, having a 1G-gte ra60 of his own
hope this helps
