flashpoint alarm troubles

hi guys
having some trouble with the alarm today, the car won't start. This all resulated from me pulling the dash trim off to install a gauge, but i've nailed it down to the alarm/immbolisor
I believe it's the immobilsor cutting off the fuel/igntion as i've tested for spark, and got nothing.
anyone had any experience with these? and/or know how why the immobiler is still triggered when my alarm is off?

when it's got no power? my imm has realy that engages to allow current thru when it's disarmed, but at all other times it cuts the circuit.. also when it has no power.. maybe you've lost power to the alarm/imm? pulled a wire out somewhere?

its got power, everything works, like the LED flash, siren, remotes, etc
but it just seems as though it is immobilised all the time, i checked all the wires like 100 times, but still no luck

Was the gauge you installed an electrical or mechanical one? Maybe you tapped into the alarm relay accidently?

Yeah the immobiliser will have a couple of relays in it, depending on what model it is (better model = more immobolising relays) generally, I think they are hooked up to the fuel pump and the ignition, say the coil or maybe even the ecu, depends on who installed it. I assume you didn't install it?
check for power at a few points with the car turned on. if you can get to the fuel pump then check it has power there, also check the ecu and the coil.
If the alarm behaves normally (IE. once you disarm it and turn the ignition on, it doesn't auto rearm while you're trying to start it, and the LED flashes/turns off the same as it used to) then you may have just broken the wires going to an immobolisation point.
Do you have the instructions from the alarm? they have wiring diagrams in them, usually makes life a little easier. I have a flashpoint in my commodore, can't remember the model, but they may be simmilar enough for me to help you out,
Tim.
