In its 20yo unrebuilt state it would probably be 30-35% less kW than was quoted at the fly.

i'll tell you how much a 22re puts out in just under a month, reduce that buy a lot and you get you 18rc output. Woot for dyno's 20 yr old motors that have done more than 400k km

If it really does put out only around 30 rwkw, then I've had about a 85% increase in power.. Nice one.

ok, that just reenforced my allready solidly established thoughts about the 18r-c
Now does anyone know any engine importers around Victoria that stock or can get a 18r-g or any variant of it?

When looking for an Rg you have to remember that its a 25 year old engine so when getting a second hand one anything short of a full rebuild is a bonus. I know a guy here in the ACT that has the making of three RG's in parts. Dunno if you interested but I could ask him the next time the CCG meets.

I havent seen that guy yet but I just saw a RA40 make 160 KW at the wheels at our dyno day with a 3t-gte, blows mine away. But later on came the big boys with a real 430 Hp at the wheels, that was something to watch.
