wakefield drags/hillclimb june Sun, 02 June 2002 11:14 Go to next message
Is anyone attending the 1/8th mile drags & hillclimb at wakefield raceway (Goulburn) on sunday 23 June?

I'll be there stirring up the boat anchor V8's & import nissans.

Will anyone join me?

Phil

by scrutineering what do you mean?
thats not where they go thru your car and tell you whether your car is permitted on the track or not is it?

OK, heres the deal.

You can bring just about anything, the scrutineering is not like a rego/RTA check or anything, its mainly to determine that your car is safe. If you run slicks, then you'll need a tailshaft loop. other than that, they check that you have a radiator overflow catch tank (they dont want you dropping coolant on the track), general underbonnet security, seatbelt condition, loose items in your hatch/boot, steering, etc. You also need a current drivers licence, long sleeve top & pants, & an approved helmet.

You dont need a rollcage.

and of course, you cant have a car faster than mine.

cost is $35 for the drags, & $35 for the hillclimb.

For the hillclimb you need a Wakefield Licence, which costs $27 per year. The only requirement for the licence is that you need a drivers licence.

Gday, I will be there for sure. Can you enter on the day, is it any cheaper if you enter in both events or is it just $35 per event. Do you know how many runs you get in each event. At the drags do you race other people or is it individual event. What time does racing start.
There will be a few of us heading up from Canberra for a good day of racing.
See you all there from Garreth.

Will they accept a CAMS lic. as the Normal is currently no-existant... Ride it off as Practice under CAMS Regs?

Gazza: I'm not sure about entry on the day, but it hasnt been a problem in the past. Unfortunately there is no discount this time for both events, previously it was $50 or so for both, but they dont seem to do this anymore.

there should be more info at www.wakefieldpark.com.au

Johnny: you can use a CAMS level 2 licence in place of the wakefield licence.

Hope to see you all there

johnny: I dont think they'll even ask for your regular drivers licence if you have those CAMS licences Laughing

to enter on the day costs an extra $10 for each of the two events Happy Sad
