Hey,
I'm having just a little bit of trouble removing the crank pulley bolt...
The engine is on a stand, and I dont have a compressor/rattle gun.
Any recommendations?

If its on the stand, Put a flywheel bolt in and jam a srewdriver between that and the massive bolts holding engine to stand.
This will stop the crank turning and you can undo the crank bolt.
I did this to mine last week and a Ze a few weeks before that.
Good luck,
Jezza

Couldn't agree more, I used an air-gun to get it out on my 4AGE. Once you use an air-gun a bit you'll never look back, they are worth the reasonably small cost.

Hey mate,
I had this exact same problem a few weeks ago!!
I wedged a screwdriver through the crank pulley, (So going through the pulley and against the block) to stop the crank turning, then just a socket on a flex bar got it off easily!

yep, if you dont have access to a rattle gun, then wedging something in the slots of the pully andd the block will do the trick just fine

Nor does it undo AE92 FWD driveshaft bolts... A big $26 bit of pipe from bunnings on the end of my Kincrome breaker bar did the trick though
We rarely used the air compressor on my whole conversion... then most it was used for was assembling and disassembling my engine hoist...
As was said amatuer airtools are not the best... mine was the grey 2.5hp unit from supercheap...
I will say this... those kincrome sockets did not round one single bolt! Money well spent.

Yeah i have the same aircompressor, my old man bought the aircompressor and the kit when Supercheap first started selling em. It gets the job done on small jobs, but the impact driver doesnt have much impact
When i rebult my motor i only used the air tool stuff for engine mounts when i was lazy that was about it
as for kingcrome sockets, i rounded a few bolts off during the rebuild with my els cheapo sockets, tried 3 differnt sockets from different sets all would just spin on the head, went and bought a kingcrome socket and it ondone first shot
As for the topic, breaker bar is your friend, i had the motor in the car so just put the tranny in 5th and put the handbrake on then a nice big breaker bar
