I was just wondering once you made the log part of the manifold, how did you mount the big part that goes to the turbo? Did you use a grinder and cut a big hole in the log then weld it on?
Thanx

yes, i took to it with the angle grinder, at the right spot i had marked out, cut a hole, then i used my die grinder to make the hole nice and smooth around the inside of the hole so the exhaust gases would flow freely...
i then got a bit of 50mm staight pipe (the 90 degree bend is 50mm), i cut out a 'U ' into one end of it, put it over the log part, tack welded it (my old man did all the final welding for me), using a hammer, i bent the tails from the ' U ' i cut out around the log so it was sealed (well after the welding it was sealed..haha)..
then i cut the 50mm straight bit off right at the log, so there was a flat surface to weld the 90 degree peice onto...
this way it was strong, and will not (hopefully, haha) crack off..
i got a few pic's here and there, but the bloody camera battery was flat that day..

this is before i made the 'U' peice, the log is tacked, and the other bit's just sitting there, before the bloody camera battery went flat...
this is the thing welded...
nah, it was only tacked when i cut the hole...
