1g valve spring removal ect

Any1 ever removed a 1g valve spring, ie remove the silly bucket and shim arrangement. Is there any trick before i go out and sacrafice a cyl head in the process
Any help would be appreciated

We have always used the valve lapping suction cup tool thing to remove the buckets and shims.
Find the WST thread to see the adaptor we made for the spring compressor to let us get the retainers out. (Hint: Witzl's sig has a link)

hehe i was shown a similar made tool to be able to get the retainers out, but i didnt want to make a mess of the buckets and shims trying to get em out, will have to source this valve lapping suction cup tool thing so the job can be taken care off. Thanks for the help

I just use a magnet with some race tape over the end so it doesn't scratch the buckets.
As to removing the actual valve springs and retainers etc this is a very interesting looking tool.
