Scared my dad... hehehe

Decided to take my old man to see star wars (finally) tonight.
in my usual 'parent in the car' driving style, we cruise oh so carefully to the cimemas.
movie is over and we head back to the car. getting in, the old man says something like "try taking it a bit easier on the way home huh? no need to win any races".... um, ok
so we start puttering home, and we end up at some lights next to a wrangler. he tears off from the green, and i keep on puttering. dad pipes up "let him go, youll never catch him". to this i pipe up and say "hey, this old girl aint so bad..." and let it lye...
...untill we got to the freeway onramp that is
just before we turn off the main road onto the onramp, i mutter "watch this" and drop into 2nd, drop the clutch, floor it and hook into a drift. drift at redline in 2nd up to the onramp, drop the clutch into 3rd, and wheelspin up to 110kmh before dropping 4th and letting it roll out (didnt want to speed with my dad in the car afterall).
the new clutch is tops, and really puches hard, giving my dad a real kick at each shift. plus the car's running really well at the mo, so was puling nicely.
... he just sat there gripping the seat for a few minutes absolutly silent. just staring....
after a while, the only thing he said was "that cant be good for your gearbox can it?"

Top story mate!
I love messing with my parents...
My dad used to be a revhead when he was younger but went all soft and became a luxury / 4WD man in his old age.
Until I gave him a similar experience in my first car about 9 years ago and renewed his interest...
So he went and got a WRX. Too slow he says so he got it boosted and such. Too slow he says so he went and bought a 4door STi. Too slow he says so he tells me he's gunna buy a Boxter S.
Hairdressers car I say so I tell him to buy an R34 GTR.
So he does. 6000 k's on it. Brand spanking new.
Too slow I tell him. You need a 4 inch exhaust and electronic boost controller. So he gets one.
I'm twisting his arm on a programmable computer (Motec or Apexi) for it at the moment.
Suggestions on what to make him buy next are most welcome...

How 'bout a T88 34D turbine kit for it, surely that would cure his need for speed,
and empty his wallet as well !!

Justcallmefrank: LOL.... I can ask... I've caused him plenty of grief over the years. He may be on the lookout.
TOYO3T: It has been mentioned... I don't think he'll take it that far though... As you can probably guess, he gets bored pretty quick so it won't be long berfore he wants a different car.
Which is kinda what I meant. What sort of car do you get after owning an R34 GTR? Suggestions pls... 911 Turbo / 911 GT2/3

HAHAHAHA I love the ' parent drive ' revs never get over 3,000. everything is so slow...
I had to give my mum a lift to the shops and that was like 1hr after I had my POD filter fitted, and I revved it out a bit ( having a new toy and all ) and she yelled and told me she wanted to get out of the car right now...
talk about over-reacting...sheesh

my brothers first car looked like a rubbish tip in the back 350 golf balls, courtesy of mac uni driving range, assorted rotten vegetables, various items from road work sites actross sydney, plus a few street names.
My parents fortunately trust me driving .. obviously I dull it down when carting them around, but they're both rev heads at heart, and like nothing more than booting off at the lights (admittedly they both drive falcodoores, but I'll forgive them, they're not boring ones)

Unfortunately, there isn't anything better than a r34gtr...maybe an N1 gtr but that's about it. For us normal men I mean, ferrari f60's, mclaren F1's and that sort of shit, not much chnge from 1.5 million though. just gotta keep pouring money into a skyline...

if you want something faster & better handling than a GTE, you could always go a "tommy makkinen" evo ... they go faster than a GTR

Damn, thats not as dumb an idea as it sounds...
He's always loved planes, especially Migs. First game he ever bought for his PC (like 10 years ago) was Mig 29 Fulcrum... he still plays it!
I might have to do some investigation me thinks....
Who reckons I can get my Dad to buy a Mig?

Yeah, a MiG would be sweet!
And don't worry, it'll run fine on optimax, gas turbines will run on almost anything.

Turbokid: It aint a sure thing yet... This is a delicate maneuver that takes careful planning and execution. The mood must be just right. Copius amounts of red wine are probably a good thing. Maybe a plane magazine or two on the table.
A question here, a hint there, a few well placed comments at just the right time.
It may take months, hell maybe even years, but I certainly don't think its out of the question.
As for you gettin the GTR... pffft!
It's mine.

if u wanted ur dads gtr i really think u need more than red wine... maybe copious amounts of chartreuse to get him blind and maybe a blowtorch and his toess or even a loaded revolver.... coss i know if i had an r34 GTR, nothing less than a nuclear attack will seperate me from it hehehhe
