MA45 Diff rear end into ae86 - General Questions Mon, 20 June 2005 10:02 Go to next message
I found another thread that gave a brief description of why an ma45 disc brake rear end wouldnt bolt into an ae86.
Apparently (rob_ra40) explains that the panhard mount is different, does the rest go straight in?
I was also under the impression that ra40 rear ends bolted straight into sprinters...
So basicly, im looking for a rundown on how easy it is to put an ra40 diff into a sprinter (or in other words, an MA45 disc brake rear end, because it uses the exact same mounts and suspension as the ra40 diff does.)

I fitted an ra40 diff to my sprinter a month or so back and the only differences were width (about 10-15 mm wider each side),panhard rod mount wich can be fixed by getting or making an adjustable one and the spring seats are a bit smaller than the sprinter ones.I have been driving mine for a month or so now and the springs havn,t move at all so I reckon its golden.I belive that rt141 disc setup bolts up to a t-series (you may want to check this)so I would'nt go paying drug money for an ma45 diff just for discs.
cheers joe

ps: also need a t-18 rear tail shaft.

Do you mean make a custom (adjustable) panhard rod, or an adjustable mount.

You'll probably end up with some old-school Supra nut trying to perform accupuncture on you with garden stakes!
