This may be a long shot but here goes.... Does anyone know if the various Toyota differentials share common dimensions?
I'm primarily interested in - width, support bearing to support bearing and crown wheel flange diameter and mounting(PCD).
The reason I ask is that a mate is running a 4agze viscous centre in a non-toyota setting and it failed last weekend(possibly related to running the unit in reverse rotation). I am about to do a similiar installation and would prefer to avoid the drama and see if there are any other LSD alternatives available.
The supercharged MR2 centre would be 7"????? maybe(can't measure - over the other side of Sydney).
The diff is being used in a chain drive application and as the chassis pickups, diff mounts and assorted sprockets have been fabricated to suit this particular centre, I'm trying to avoid any unnecessary expense.
As to power, I would expect somewhere in the region 170~180hp and the vehicle weighs in the region of 400kg.
