hey guys i was just wondering if there is any thing that i can do to get better performance (pick up) from the standard KE70 engine, im getting a 2 1/4 zorst with lukey muffler and a 2.5" tip for $280 soon and i was thinking about getting a performance air filter.
i know that it hasnt got that much power (if any) just looking for better pick up

2" exhaust is way overkill for a stockish 4K... if you do not plan for cam etc later then just go with 2"or 1 3/4" pipe. will be quieter and make no difference to performance.
as for pickup... the air cleaner is pretty crappy, but just replacing it with a filter ont eh carb will make things worse (sucking in hot air)
what you can do is to run a pipe down to where it can get some fresh cool air, and this WILL make a difference, particularly at highway speeds.
initially you could just take air filter off totally, and take car for a drive... that is about the best pickup you can hope for (but in traffic, you will need the cold air intake)

The K engine.. I love the poor little things, and they love me. I think. The trouble with them is, that a 20% gain of not much is, well, still not very much!
