Oil Pressure

I have a 2TGEU that has low oil pressure. Apart from that the engine runs fine.. Would it matter if I put a oil pump from a 3TGTE in it to raise the pressure, or would this damage the engine more?

I can't see why not... The 3TGTE is basically the same as the 2TGEU, but with a turbo, and since you can run the 3TGTE without a turbo, you should be able to run the 3TG oil pump in the 2TGEU. I would imagine the 3TGTE oil pressure is higher, but that shouldn't hurt the engine.
Goodluck.

If your engine has low oil pressure, it obviously has problems. A larger oil pump is only going to hide the problem, not fix it. Exactly how low are we talking here?

Thanks for your reply's.
Norbie: The engine is pretty tired, compression is 120psi even on all cylinders. Saying that, it has never let me down and still pulls quite well. Oil pressure is around 25-50kpa on idle and around 250-300 at 3800 rpm. Cold, it will idle at 400kpa. It doesn't blow smoke at all and uses no oil between services (every 5000km's) I know it wont repair the problem, but being Christmas, everybody is miserable and broke, including me!
