Hey people,
I have tried to search for this conversion on the site, but can only really find info on FWD conversions.
How difficult is it to convert the 16v rwd to a 20v head. Reason for change is that I blew the head gasket this morning.....fun fun. What would I need for the conversion (apart from the head of course)-will i need the quad throttle bodies aswell, and do the extractors i have for the 16v match up to the 20v?. Will this be a decent upgrade economically and powerwise, or is it better to just machine the head i have and get it back together?
BTW, the 4age i have at the moment is a bigport TVIS, i have from a sprinter (i am pretty sure) in a 73 celica. (hope to get pics up soon)
Cheers,
Crok.

it _could_ be done but would be a fair amount of work...
As the bigport 4age is farily low compression it wouldnt do you much good anyway.
You would be better off selling the bottom end (for whatever you can get) and dropping in a complete 20v engine. At the moment they are one of the cheapest toyota engines you can buy and are a great little package.
You will need to either find the stock ecu for one or and aftermarket setup.
The current extractors should fit with a little modification to the bolt holes on each end.

Fair enough, wasn't really intending to get the whole thing....
Cheers, though.
