i have a 3sgte in a 162 celica with a few mods , im having a few problems with engine mounts it keeps chewing them up the engine wants to jump out of the engine bay, i was looking at engine damper's on ebay etc has anyone had any experience with these the kit only comes for s13 etc as expected does anyone know exactly how they bolt to the mount , strut etc?

or does anyone have any alternate solutions?

thanks

in silvias they usually bolt to the strut tower where the strut tower brace usually bolts to...

seeing as your car is fwd id imagine you would have to figure out which way its twisting and then find a spot on the chassis to mount it to. alternatively you could shift a bit easier to try to make them last longer...

you can also buy eurethain mounts or as some people do fill the mounts with sikaflex to reduce the movement

yer i know i just looked at a photo and being fwd could be a bit tricky.. easier on shifting no way Razz it loves it.. might have to try a bit of sikaflex not sure how well it will work though :S

I've heard of a few people welding some chain links across the the engine mount. So the mounts can only flex so far. Seems a bit dodgy though.

Has anyone had experience with solid engine mounts ? that would stop a bit of flex i'd say Razz hehe could be rather brutal on your drive line tho.
