does anyone have any pictures of diffs centres and the differences between them.
i am about to go hunting for a diff but would like to know what i am looking at. it will be a hilux diff if that makes a difference other than the housing.
here is what i would like to know.
what does a 2 pinion open wheeler look like
what does a 2 pinion Clutch style LSD look like
what does a 4 pinion clutch syle lsd look like
what does a torsion style lsd look like
and any others that i can think of.
is it possible to look at the complete centre and tell what the reatio is?
ppictures or a web link would be greaat if you can help.

Diff centres are different between all different types and makes of cars.
The most noticable difference will be the hemisphere of the diff (the part that allows the crownwheel to be bolted to)
Generally an open-wheel diff will be completely sealed.
LSD type diff u can see inside it thru the openings and by looking inside it, you can see if its 2 pinion or 4 pinion by the amount of spider gears inside.
