it'd be a helluvalot better than the shit 86kw turbo motor in there already... but why put a good motor in a shit car? why not just do what 50,000 other peopele have done and ut it in an AE82/92
nahh, do something different.... youd be scaring all those blacktop/silvertop fully sik corollas by actually beating them for once

I think you might have problems with the donor organ rejecting the host i.e. the engine refuses to start.

Is there a reason why you wouldn't go CA18DET?
I may be very wrong, but aren't they a CA18 to start with which would make the conversion next to a piece of piss. And with the turbo bro, you get the fully hectic psshhhhhhh

Yeah mate a 1989 will be a CA18DE, so you are right, the obvious choice is the CA18DET. Why would you bugger around with a 1.6L 120Kw N/A motor (although excellent as they are), when you can have a 130Kw 1.8L Turbo motor that bolts in... and can be powered up over 150Kw with the 5 minute fitment of a $50 boost controller.
oldcorollas: N12 Turbo models ended in 1987 which co-incided with the switch to the new body shell and running gear.

ahhh, i see...
so whjy would you not whack a CA18 turbo straight in.. it's "virtually bolt in"
maybe a 4A would give better weight distribution but ffs, it's onyl a 4AG CA18DET will piss all over a 4A...
