1GGTE or what?

Ok I have previously posted asking what engines I could put in an SA63 and it was suggested to get a 3SGTE . . now thats just not an option $$$ wise so I was wondering what else would be available? Is a 1GGTE a viable option? If so what would be the costs and requirements?
Any replies are greatly appreciated, I really need to start beating hyundai's! Its embarrassing!

From what i understand the 1g is the best value for money conversion for the RA60 and RA65. The Sa63 obvously has a 2S engine but i'm pretty sure that the engine bay has plenty of room for a 1g. I'm not sure of the curent prices for a 1g but if money is a factor you could look at getting a non turbo 3sge it shouldn't be a too harder conversion and it will be a decent increase of power with plenty of potential.

i had the car and the engine with the bits to make it work but sold it last week
the 1ggte will fir, you will need to make mounts tho, also need a sump of the NA or supercharged version? the front sump (the turbo has mid) to clear the x-member
also a bellhousing (1g slave + flywheel if a auto 1ggte)
then it will bolt upto your gearbox
not the most basic swaps but very doable.

You don't need a front sump (they're kinda rare).
You should be able to bash the mid-rear sump in a bit... Well that's on an R-series crossmember, not sure about the S-series one.
The front sump is much better though. But only appears in 1G-GEs, 1G-GZEs, and 1st Gen 1G-GTEs.

Pfffttt....front sump bullshit......
I used to flog the arse out of my 1G, and never had any problems with the mid sump. Has it been proven that the front sump is better?? Sure, it may be bigger than the mid one, but do you think toyota would have built the mid sump on the last generation 1GGTE's, if it was inferior to the front design?? You must also remember that the mid rear sump IS on the highest HP output 1G aswell, which is also the one that would require the most oil flow and pressure....
But who cares, im just in it for a rant (and a break from working on the celica!)
