Toyospares are good.
Or Meridian Motorsport.
Or just go and talk to places until you find one that you feel comfortable with.
Or do it yourself. Monkey or not.

I highly reccomend C&D motorworks in Nth SUnshine. They specialise in Toyota and have done many 4a conversions etc.
They also have a 4wd dyno dynamics.

I'd also recommend both Toyospares and Meridian Motorsport!
On a side note, anyone know of workshops that have put 4agze's into AE92's before? Engineered?

I probably could have a go myself but I lack tools and confidence more than anything - makes me a monkey haha
sunshine is a fair way out of my way so I might try the other 2 first, especially concidering I drive past moorabin every day to and from work

Last time I was at Toyospares, I'm pretty sure I saw an AE92 with a GZE in the engine bay. Was awaiting wiring.

he has plans for a bottom end that will be going in soon, will handle close to 10,000rpm!!! i wana be a toyospares mechanic, hahaha.

Toyospares - brother had a AE86 4AGE 20 valve conversion done there, and his mate had a RA28 1GGZE conversion. Both were very happy with them.

Hi Tai. Can you give me a ballpark figure on what C&D would charge for a 4agze conversion into a 1990 Corolla SX? Thanks.

SD,
I must warn you, engineering on a 4agze into an AE92 may well be quite difficult...
I myself am facing $700 for engineering and $6-700 for an EPA emissions test...
It's the emissions side of things that are tricky, so be sure to firm up with an engineer or whoever installs about getting it approved once the money is spent...

inertia...thanks for letting me know, I wasn't really thinking about that side of things. That is very expensive for an EPA test, but I know that it is a fairly standard price when going for an engineers certificate because of the hi tech equipment involved.
taitran, I will pay you a visit in the next few months, my car is at the panel shop at the moment. $800 sounds very reasonable, but I will have to factor in the cost of buying the engine, converting it to turbo, and then dropping it in with an after-market computer...and other accessories (intercooler, etc.)
I don't know how you can charge $800 when other places charge $5000 for this installation? Is this just labour cost?

tai,
Do you have any contacts regarding engineering?
For example, I have an approval certificate from my mate's AE92 Toyota Levin GTZ with the same engine that it installed in my car now... ADR37/00 is listed as being complied with...
To me, that means that the 4agze MAP sensor complies with ADR37/00, to other places, they either say NO or want the EPA test done for some numbers etc.

Hi tai, that sounds good. I'll deffinitely be down to get a quote. I was wondering, would C&D be able to source the engine and get it at a trade price?
