as has been mentioned elsewhere... the stock turbos are good for about 450 hories... unless you want more than that, dont swap your turbos, 'cause tehre is a LOT of money to be used once you go down that road

Nah man, stock ones arn't rated that high. Someone else may be able to tell us what they can actually put out.
If the stock ones put out that much I'd put a 1J in mine years ago...

US-spec turbos are good for about 450hp apparently, but they're quite a bit bigger than the Jap turbos.

Have EMS (the actual brand) brought out a computer that works properly with the 1JZ yet ? From what I'd heard, there is an issue with some stepper motor, or something to do with the ignitors (not sure which).

I'd like to know about 1jz ems systems as well, since that's one of the brands I'm looking at getting to replace me ecu

I meant US-spec 2JZ turbos are good for 450hp. These are slightly bigger than Jap-spec 2JZ turbos. I'm pretty sure I'm not on crack.

Yeah, I can confirm what norbie said. I heard the same thing. US-spec 2JZ turbos (larger ball bearing type) are capable of upto 450HP.
Cheers

Wouldn't they be in somekind of sequential setup though....
Do they bolt straight up to the 1JZ manifold?

Yes they are sequential and no they don't bolt up to a 1JZ manifold (not without mods anyway).

I didn't think any Toyota turbos were ball bearing

No, the 2JZ manifold won't fit on a 1JZ head.
