Need some help in choosing a SW20

Hi guys,
My mate is looking to buy a SW20 MR2 and because I dont know much about this car, I was wondering what he should look out for in choosing one. More specifically, are there any inherit mechanical problems of both the N/A and turbo models? Are there any tell-tale signs of poor maintenance? What differences are there between build dates and finally, what sort of prices should he be paying?
Any help with regard to the above topics would be much appreciated.

While I like AW11's, especially the SC'd ones, the SW20 is just better Get one.
Pending your Age, if your sub 25 and want to pay sane insurance get a Baturst or non-turbo GT.
If your up for some interesting insurance(circa $2K) get a GT Turbo! Very much fun. I think I've described my previous SW20 in on of the threads Alex mentioned previously.

Sorry if that seems terse. I wasn't having a go at you over using the search. Grabbing those links out of my post history was all I had time for earlier.
Most happy to answer any other questions.

Althought that's probably not far from the truth, but if you can't be arsed doing what Dave is doing then just get a SW20 with a 3S-GTE

I've got nothing against the sw20 really, I think they're a really good looking car and the turbos haul a decent amount of arse. And chicks seem to dig sw20's more *shrug* girls are silly
Seriously though, I knew I'd seen this somewhere (make sure you turn music off at the bottom - it will scar you)

If you hit something like a fence or another car, the SW20 would be easier to get parts for as it took me ages to find a front end for my AW11.

thank you for all the help guys.
Looks like my mate is going for a 92 GEN2 3SGTE import
anything to look out for in the GEN2 3SG's compared to the later generations?
