MA61 fuel pump?

is the MA61 fuel pump mounted above the fuel tank or is it a in-tank pump?
also would anyone recommend using it to feed a 1G-GTE? i am running a MA45 fuel pump/tank setup on my 1G-GE and want a pump that will mount up to the existing position, and be happy enough to suck and push fuel like the factory one does.

The MA61 pump is in-tank. It will happily run a stock 7M-GTE, so it won't have a problem with a 1G.

hmmm theres my problem, the MA45 pump is not in-tank its mounted above it.
will i be able to find a pump that can feed a 1G-GTE and also happily suck fuel out of the tank as well as push it? ie. mount it where the MA45 pump is now.
i have a good high pressure pump but im not sure it would be happy to lift as well as push.
also thanks for the info norbie.

Get a VL pump, cheap and easy. Why does it have to be mounted in the same place as the original pump?
