UZZ31 Tranny code 46 Sun, 03 July 2005 05:51 Go to next message
Ok, my O/D light is telling me 46 (4 flashes, 2 sec gap, 6 flashes, 4 sec gap)

I cannot find ANYWHERE what this code is.

Anyone got any ideas?

CEL is flashing normally.

Number 4 solenoid fault, which would be, from memory, is the line pressure PWM solenoid in a A341E.

Good luck.

Interesting.

This could just be that I am running a UZS131 Crown tranny on a UZZ31 Soarer ecu.

I'm guessing the Soarer uses an A341E and the Crown uses an A340E?

Yes. You can put a power resistor(10Watt) in to the loom to trick the ECU. I wonder how solenoid 3 will operate. In the A340E this is the TC lockup and is either on or off but in the A341E with a Soarer ECU this solenoid in a proportional type with a different impedance though it's still TC lockup. I wonder if the TC lockup will work correctly becuase of this.

Another difference with my A341E vs an A340E I have is that the Soarer box has a forward mounted speed sensor on the right side, post TC on the transmission input shaft after the oil pump. I wonder if this is also needed for the ECU to stop it spitting out a fault code.

Hmmmm, 46 was the only code it through.

It manages to select all 4 gears, but kickdown is pretty slow (I could be expecting too much though).

Maybe I'll just get a UZZ31 box, or just an A341E.

Quick follow up to this

Both the UZZ31 and UZS131 run the A341E tranny.
Both tranny's have the same pinouts.

Tested the box in the car and the spare box I have, both the same

Here is the pinouts.

Check the wiring in the loom and it turns out the the B+ for S4 didn't have +12v. So there must be an open circuit somewhere.

So I just wired up B+ for S3 to B+ for S4.

Haven't been able to test drive it yet because I am working on getting SP2 working properly.

Will hopefully drive it later this week.
