Hi guys,
I've just pull out the fuel pump from an efi tank that I have sitting in the garage for a while, and guess what... the tank is now full of rust and crap.
Now is there anyway I can clean this or is it just a bin job Its surface rust and gunk from what I can see.
Thanks

Its powder like surface rust, no hole or anything it can be scrap off. Anyway I think I've just found a solution there is a fuel tank repair kit you can buy that remove rust and create an enamel type coating inside the tank. I think I will give it a try.

Mate I'd be very careful about using products like what you mentioned. Depends on how much you value the motor...
I'd take the tank to somewhere that specialises in fuel tank repairs and cleaning.
If you don't want to go spending $ just clean the tank yourself. Amazing how well they can come up with a little elbow grease. It all depends how rooted the tank is.
It is strange to have a fuel tank that is rusted. Even water in the fuel generally makes for that white crusty shite, but not rust in the tank...

The Tank is not as bad as it sound, the rust is just surface rust and can be easily scape off. Trouble is I can't get inside the tank to clean it maybe I can get it sandblasted or something.
