Pilot Bearing in rwd 4AGE with w5* box

Hey all. I'm just curious to know what people have done with the pilot bearing that holds the input shaft of the gearbox in place?
I'm not sure if it fits onto a w5* box seeing as the input spline is chunkier. Does anyone know if it fits?
Eddie.

i take it by pilot bearing you're talking about the spigot bearing.
if thats the case, they're the same.

just measure up the input shaft/flywheel tunnel and your clutch place should be able to find a few bearing sizes which would suit
have the tool handy as well for removing it - theres hardly any other way of removing it without it

the input spline section is chunkier, but the end of the input shaft on the w5* box is the same as a t50.
so unless there's something drastically wrong with the spigot bearing jammed in the back of your 4A crank, then just use the one you've got.
cheers

Thanks dudes. Well i'll have to get it out of the block in the car atm cause i'm using a different bottom end. Maybe i should just order another one... sounds easier that way.

For the sake of the couple of dollars they are, just replace it with a new one, as well as the release bearing, and everyone'll be happy. If the shaft won't fit in the bearing, it's because someone's furred up the end of it and it needs cleaning up and a tiny bit of grease smeared onto it.

Sorry to bump this but i've been looking through the EPC for the bearing but want to confirm.
I'm pretty sure it's this thingy but would like to be sure. It comes under the "Powertrain/Chassis Group" in the EPC for a jdm AE86.
Part no: 33131-14020-
Part name: RETAINER, BEARING, FRONT (MTM)
Cheers guys.
Eddie.

toyota
you'll have a hard time getting it out in one piece. most people machine them out and then refit a new one.
if your using a different bottom end id suggest buyting one new and whacking it in

any bearing shop, be it Gardner Bearings, CBC, etc will have a listing for them.
you go in there, and ask for a spigot bearing for an AE86 Toyota Sprinter, 1985 model.
they'll charge you about $7, and give you a bearing.
to get the old one out, use a hammer, a screwdriver, or whatever you can to get it out. makes no difference.
to put the new one in, get a 20mm socket, and a hammer, and bash teh fucker in.
it's not rocket science.

I got one from a bearing specialist for $4.50. It's a sealed 6001 (FAG) bearing. Common as anything the bloke said.
