HELP...Diff rebuild on MA70.. need help got stupid insane quote!!!

Ok,
My diff is basically needing to be rebuild as it "clanks" on acceleration and deceleration.
Rang up an unnamed place and they quote me ~$1100. Yeah exactly W T F !.
It is a clutch pack n/a LSD, nothing special!, its not a torsen.
So I am wondering now can anyone recommend someone in SA to get a diff recon'd, or am I better buying a diff from a wrecker? (cost?).
I know I have read others getting full recon's for $400 so yeah $1100 is a tad excessive I think!

Just make a few more phone calls.
Most clutchLSD's will cost $400-$600 to rebuild.

Yeah I figured that was about the right price.
Tend to think they did not want to do the work with that quote

Do you mean Adelaide Differential Service at brompton?
The one I contacted was in the City (no the above one).. one I contacted was just off west & east tce.

$1100 with, or with out parts???
factory stuff can really add up to twice that on a trashed rear end.
they're just trying to cover their butts for a potential mess.

I would rather get something that is brand new, rather than buying another diff that has potentially seen better day's and be back in the same boat 6 - 12 months down the track.

Sounds like the same place I asked about getting the diff centre swapped over, me supplying most major parts including bearings. They wanted $700 to swap the centres over!
Another guy wanted around $180, i'm gonna talk to him when i get the chance I think

if you found out what was included in the quote, 1100 was probly about right. toyota clutch packs in the lsds are way expensive genuine, and there are dickloads in each diff.
