WTB: 4.1 crown wheel & pinion gears for Sprinter

Guys,
We are after a 4.1:1 crown wheel and pinion gear out of a Japenese Sprinter diff. I say Japenese because I think there is some difference between that and the aussie sold ones, but I dont know what. Maybe some one can fill us in on that??
The gears would have to be in good condition because we dont like to make a habbit of getting the diff rebuilt a couple of times a year...

i got a standard aus spec one here (complete diff)
i think the only difference is that the aus one is 4.3:1
and i've heard a celica 4.1 will fit in
diff shop told me a whole bunch of crap, all i could think was "i want a hilux diff" so i didnt really listen
but as a good bit of advice, get the hilux diff, best thing i ever did!!! and i'm pretty sure u wont break it, i've been trying

Allan,
Mate from what little I know about sprinters I think the overseas models had a T series diff as opposed to the Aus Spec S series. If that is indeed the case I have a couple here and am pretty sure t least one is a 4.1 I can check for you tomorrow night if you want.

ms65 type crown diff, ta22 celica or even early (live axle type) ra60 celica should have the diff center you are after - ms65 and ta22 will be 4.1:1 - not sure on the ra60.
also - some early ta22's had lsd's fitted!!

Hi Rod,
Well if you have a 4.1 crown wheel and pinion in good condition that you would like to sell then I am interested... 
The diff it needs to fit is a Japanese Sprinter LSD.

I'll confirm it tonight but there is deffinatly a TA22 centre there and 90% of them are 4.1's. Failing that I am working on a set of 4.3:1 gears at the moment for my Car. If I get them then it has a Rebuilt 4.1:1 Centre in it that can come out
Failing that was thinking of Putting a T-18 Centre in Tina's so there a 4.1:1 that will be coming out there too

Allan,
How much of a Hurry are you In ??
Mate I have a 3.9 here in the RA60 
The 72 TA22 is not marked as to what diff is installed (that started in 73) so I am not 100% on whats in it
It should be either a 4.111 or a 4.1 Being an early diff it could be the D082 Cente. This is a 6.62" 4.111 centre. Otherwise its the more common T292 which is the one you really want as they are a poofteenth larger (6.7") and are a 4.100 ratio.
If you want to come round and drop it out of the car you can have the whole centre for $40. But as I said I am not 100% certain of its ratio and don't wanna waste your time.
Otherwise I need to get a new centre or Diff in Mine or Tina's and I am working on both but timeframe is unclear. The 4.3 Gearset I was working on is only half there so things are up in the air a bit.
If you need something in a Hurry the T292 diff code is the one you want and can be found in most early Celica's. From Pick n Payless a whole centre is $80 last I bought one.

Thanks for getting back to us...
Um... I guess the easiest thing for both of us is for me to give pick and pay less a call and ask for the T292 diff center. Thanks for that info. $80 is certainly no problem if we can find the 4.1 gears in good condition.
Never been to pick and payless before...

Sorry to mess you around mate,
but I was talking to my old man, being as its for his PRB after all, and he said he would prefer to come out and buy the center you have offered us above rather than go to pick and pay less.
We dont mind pulling it out, and we also dont mind weather its a 4.1 or a 4.111..
Would you think the gears you have in that center would be in good condition?
Anyway, when would be a convenient time for us to come round and pull it out if that offer still stands? We are free pretty much all weekend...

Mate as for the condition of the centre I honestly don't know. I Bought the car as a rolling shell Thats what sux about bloody old cars, You don't know 100% for sure what in there until you pull it out. I have used one of the axels out of it already tho and it was great ! (has another axel in there now so I could move it tho.)
I have an axel puller here plus axel stands and a trolly jack so it won't take too long !
If I get the chance Friday night I'll get the car ready
