The official "unofficial" word from the guys at Toyota is that the Sportivo corolla will cease production in late October/November, just when you think we are onto a good thing...
The celica and mr2 are also on borrowed time.
Echo will probably be replaced in August for a new model

New gtr is going to do to the racing industry what the r32 gtr did to group A, it'll turn it on it's head.
Latest stats for it are:
vq37dett: 3.7ltre quad cam v6 elec assist twin turbo with semi dry sump, easiliy over 400hp stock (conservative figure).
An attesa system that uses electric motors to drive the front wheels and the motor to power the rear wheels, advantages are significant weight loss, much more tuneability, much less drive train loss resulting in more power and a better weight distribution.
New rx7 on the other hand is going to be very bare bones in comparison to the fd. 1.5ltre renesis pushing over 300hp, naturaly asspirated twin rotor design.

and whats toyota gunna have to offer for us performance types ? a bodykit and a sticker on the new generation camry ?
Seeing also we always get the Crap lexus setups too - we prolly wont get any sporty versions of the new IS to hold us over either.
No wonder id buy an XR6 turbo or a 350z if i was to buy a new car today

is the new GTR out yet?? i've seen some skylines around here that are definitely not R34's they look kinda fugly really.. wel, not fugly but plain jane..
like these??
is a bit of a shame that all makers are moving away from performance and even away from manuals!! sure autos are easy to drive, but are the general population that stupid/lazy?
as far as elec motors go, i have an Estima brochure showing it has a petrol motor up front, and an elec motor at BOTH front and rear.. the petty is a whopping 96kW, and the elecs are 13kW front/18kW rear
i'd love to see some more performance oriented hybrids
anyhoo
