yeh i couldn't bring myself to wrecking its originality, even if i put money into the car changing it, i think it'd lower its value cos it wouldn't be original anymore...i'm still only considering the small soundsystem.
i wanna put exhaust tips on it as well tho because the old peashooter is old as.
keep posting guys, i wanna hear all ur comments/suggestions, good or bad...

I'm with riceburna73 on this one, if your thought's are to keep her original, then don't touch a damn thing. These cars will be only a figment of our imagination in the near future. Store it away from the weather and do up another car. If you can't afford it, sell it too me and do up another car.
There are many close to original TA22's out there, but not ORIGINAL as standard pea shooter man (which should stay on too!).
You could use this car in car shows in the original category.
Chop it up, and you'll be sort after!

hey
yeh i dunno about that quarter panel, and also the boot seems like a different colour, they might've been replaced by the original owner??
yeh i really don't wanna change it but i also want a soundsystem so i'll have to keep thinking about it
oi i didn't know there were 'original' categories?? i doubt i could win anything but would there be any prize money or awards??

Hey, if your in Adelaide (as it states in your profile), then come along to the next CCC cruise (Classic Celica Club). Adrian and Brenton are the organisers and they always put on a good show.
We definitely could have used your car in this years Small Car Sunday display. The club had i think from memory 7 trophies awarded to three different members and two for best club orientated trophies. No price money dude! It's not about the cash, it's about showing off your stuff the to the crowd and mixing in a bit too.
Keep her original mate and don't worry about the FM radio. Leon Bynder, Jon Blakie and the famous Bob Francis will give you more entertainment than any FM radio will. Just there's no music! You'll get over it. LOL

riceburna:
i'd get a new parcel shelf definitely, and maybe a new glove box....box, but i wouldnt put speakers in the door trims, im not too fussy bout the quality/loudness of the music i'll be playing, i'll only need speakers in the rear.
7mgtema71:
yeh man i've been on two or three cruises before, i'll try and go next time but im in year 12 so i dont have much spare time.
and bloody small car sunday, i asked adrian about going to the last one but he didn't even want my car, he said it's got a bit to go till it's good enough. but not to worry haha, his loss.
what celica do you have? i'll try and see you round at one.

That's clean as man. If you really want a stereo, do as people have said in here, get another set of door trims to hack up, and make a new parcel shelf for the rear. For the head unit, I'd recommend looking at making a bracket up to fit under the glove box, that way it can just double on the threaded holes already there for the shelf that sits under it and you don't have to hack anything up.. plus a remote will actually work there . I can show you some pictures of this done, if you're interested.
Anyway, nice car dude, look after her!

what tha!!!
Just saw this thread. There is no way the CCC would reject a wicked original TA22 in a ccc display. I had nothing but good things to say about your car, alike all the comments re keeping it in it's original condition and hav'n something rare. We have welcomed all cars that are Celica's in our display's that are tidy, original or modified/customised. The display is about the club, not mods and individual show for judging, unless wanted.
It's a pitty that you somehow came up with that conclusion, because I have a TA22 with similar rareties and would have put it in the show if it was a little tidier on the outside.
We had numerous different types at the show, without being over showy or flashy, but a winning display. Missed out on a great day...

Nice save mate, too bad it's all bullsh*t to make yourself look like the innocent one.
Been in this car many times, although I get kicked to the back seat and I have to lay across the whole back of it cause it is too small! Wicked car although not the quickest aye ace, lol.

hey chabz, that car is awesome, i want those venetians!!!! where'd he get them from? ( i want some, see parts wanted)
thats the first time i've seen a ta22 with whitewalls and it doesnt look as good as i thought, the hubcaps looks really small etc.
why does he have that exhaust on the stock 2t? doesnt seem neccessary.
Adrian i don't really care about the whole thing but i'd definitely be up for going in the next small car sunday....altho i really only want to go to see all the other cars. Are there going to be any cool summer CCC cruises? cos i'll be finishing yr 12 soon and i'll have some spare time for once.

we got them from http://www.autocables.com.au/
got the tip for looks, looks better than the old tip thats for sure
here are more pics
we are pretty happy with the whitewalls, considering that we buy the tyres with the whitewall already on it from factory,so cant complain, saves us from getting it redone every few months
