MA70 opinions

Well I am dissapointed with the lack of classic toyotas in Spain, so I have been forced to look at something a little more modern.
There is a few MA70's here going for affordable prices. and I have always liked the shape/finish of em.
What are owners opinions of them.
1. Nice to drive
2. Perform well
3. Fuel economics (petrol here is about $1.80aud/litre)
4. Easy Parking - you should see my parking options
Any thing else?
It's either this or something like a Renault Seat or other shopping trolley.

Nice to drive? Oh ya... nothing finer, for the money.
Perform well? If it's in good shape, it does ok... parts aren't cheap. Good tires and shocks go a long way toward making anything feel good...
Fuel Economy? Are you talking about a 3.0L 7M? Nothing particularly economical about it. Driven like a grandma, maybe but that's quite the challenge. I couldn't do it. Any Cressida or Supra is better suited as a highway car... not a city car.
Easy Parking? Compared to any small Toyota this car is a boat, a land yacht... it's big and heavy. Take for example parking in a parking lot (side by side). The supra has very long doors, you need space to open the door in order for you to easily maneuvre yourself in or out of the car... no man, in cramped quarters the Supra isn't desirable. Not unless you don't mind getting in and out Dukes of Hazzard style.
Don't know about your part of the world, but looking at used Supra's the interior is often rough looking - the shifter, the steering wheel. Rust in and around the body mouldings...

Yeah, Big doors will be a problem for you in your case. Parking not so bad ( but I've been parking that big Arse Ute as well)
I think you main issues will be getting parts for them however if there are a few over there it will probably be no more diffiult to find them than here.
Fuel wise on an auto 7M-GTE my brother was getting 320-340 Km to a tank in the city, Now getting ~380 with the 1J/manual conversion. the Tank is in the realm of 60-70 litres (need to be corrected)
They are different to drive than what you are used to ep. if you get one with the TEMS suspension. that is weird until you get used to it. but that being said they do suprisingly well in standard form.
What I'd really like to say here is find a GA70 and an RA28. take a 1J back with you in august and put it in the Supra.
That would leave you with a 1J Supra, An RA28 and a 1G-GTE.
I'll let you come up with somewhere to keep the 1G....
Is importing a car from Aust not an option at all??

big and boaty my arse.
heres what you do.
get yourself an MA70. look for one with the mhg done if you can and itll save you a lot of trouble.
get yourself a decent set of coilovers and strut tower braces.
remove spare tyre.
the thing goes round corners like a dream then.. its so darn responsive..
