Hey all,
this pic is of a GZ20 -
What is this black box labelled in the picture? What does it do, also, what is that little cylindrical thing just above it?

That black box makes a buzzing/hissing noise when the car is turned off. . . why?

that's your vacuum controlled heater doovalacki. controls the heater tap makes a hissing noise as the presure equalises one may assume.

could be charcoal canister, but that should be on the other side.
if the vac hoses go into the round thing above it with heate lines going into it, it's your heater control.
otherwise charcoal cannister.

the small thing above it could be heater control though, right?
I should check it out, could be the reason why my heater doesn't get hot! ;o

Yeah the grey diaphragm thing is most likely part of the heater control. If your heater isn't working it's more likely to be a problem with the climate control electronics; these cars are notorious for it.
